Saturday morning visitor to our balcony. Arlington VA
One of the things I enjoy about where we live is our balcony. This little piece of outdoors keeps us close to nature and the surprises of life. Last year we saw our first Carolina mantis living among our cat-mint. The 3+ inch elegant insect strode among our plants for a week or more. Yesterday, Bob called me to the window to see our latest surprise… a “baby” mantis of no more than 1 inch long. Maybe it is an offspring of the female mantis we discovered last summer. Wonder if we will get to watch this nimble creature grow over the next we months?
