Today is the feast of my chosen patron saint, St Francis of Assisi. From the Franciscan nuns from Assisi Heights who figured prominently into my early formation to prayer and reflection on the saints’ life, much of how I live my life is inspired by his example. I am thankful for the gift of knowing God through the world around me, the challenge to express my beliefs through my actions as well as words, the desire to be an instrument of peace, and to honor God’s providence by striving for simplicity. St Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
